2021/2022 Cargo Connect Event Registration Info

Nov-11:  Coach Account emailed to Primary Coach (aka coach1) on/before November 11th  (all but 4 were sent on Nov-11;  the first 4 teams were sent on Nov-7).

The Playing At Learning requirements will be able to be completed at that time using this account – to find your team’s status page, go to the 2021 Team List and search/browse to your specific team.  Click on the status link in the last column.

Nov-17 @ 7:30pm:  Advancing League Tournament Registration will open

Summary of changes:    To Register into an event, the Team coach will login with provided account to complete Playing At Learning’s requirements and then (once available) register into a specific event.   We have 2 leagues:  Competitive and Recreational.   Within each league, there  could be 2 or more event formats.

For All NorCal Events:

  • We enable the coach to register into a tournament event (once registration is open) after BOTH the FIRST Requirements and Playing At Learning Requirements are completed:
REQUIREMENTS before Registration into NorCal tournament:
FIRST REQUIREMENTS:
– on the firstinspires.org dashboard

  • Paid FIRST registration fees as a national FIRST team with a valid team number  (5 digits or less)
  • Two screened Coaches (Coach & Co-Coach) through Verified Volunteers and approved by FIRST
  • Two Coaches and all Team Members listed on electronic Team Roster with accepted Consent&Release
Playing At Learning REQUIREMENTS:
– using coach account on norcalfllc.org created by Playing At Learning

  • Paid Playing At Learning Event registration fees
  • Submitted and Playing At Learning staff has reviewed Team Information Form (aka jotform)
  • Submitted and Playing At Learning staff has reviewed a completed FIRST Team Roster

EVENT FORMATS

Right now we only have 2 Event  Formats:   Remote and Hybrid.

You will pick 1 event.    [Note for the spring Recreational League events,  we may be able to add Traditional (all in-person) events back.  Keeping fingers crossed  – we will update this page if this option becomes available.  Also, the Recreational League is unlikely to have any Hybrid events but not sure yet.]

Not all events are confirmed yet.  The events will be published here once confirmed. Each event will have an “event name” related to Cargo Connect theme.

All teams will be assigned a pit slot within the event that they choose based on order of registration!   That means that the first team to register into an event will be assigned the first pit number – usually #1 (important note that Hybrid Judging2 events start at pit #25 as the first one).

REMOTE EVENTS:

Once registration opens, for Remote events, you choose 1 event day

Total time commitment:   ~10 hours with breaks for lunch, etc

HYBRID EVENTS :

Once registration opens, for Hybrid events, you select 1 Game event  AND a Judging event as a single paired event.   Note that each Hybrid Game day has 2 related Judging days.  You only choose 1.

“Hybrid Event – Game Jan-16 and Judging1 Jan-17”   OR         “Hybrid Event – Game Jan-16 and Judging2 Jan-22”

Total time commitment:   ~7hours with breaks, not including travel to/from game venue
